Word of the Day: Incest
Sexual intercourse between a person who is so closely related that their marriage is forbidden by law or custom.
Lot's daughters grew up in a pagan city, where people (gay) demanded their rights, and they also paraded to demonstrate the freedom they had always wanted. The town was Sodom, and their father had raised them here and their mother in this city. Sodom's name is synonymous with sexual perversion.
Judgment had come to their city and was destroyed by God, for it was a wicked city. This city was not called wicked for things done behind closed doors but for what was accepted as a way of life. It seems that we are leaving those days at this moment and that this story is describing our cities. Lot, their father, decides to install himself in Sodom and later becomes a citizen of this town. Sodom was wicked and corrupt before the Lord.
Genesis 13:12–13
…Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.
13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.
Genesis 19:15
And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
Lot's daughters were not raised in fear of the Lord; he presented them to fit in with the customs of their city. Their father must have been a politician, as the Bible says that he sat at the city's gates, where the politicians met back in those days. He was in charge of passing laws regarding their wicked or perverted desires. Imagine what kind of conversation Lot had with his family at the dinner table. Our family is always talking about church, business, politics, or current events at our table. Lot, although he was a just man, his life didn't represent any virtue from God. So these girls heard everything going on in their city, and all they heard was wicked.
Genesis 19:1
…and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom…
They got the opportunity to start a new life with their mother and father, who was a just man. Lot was the only just (saved)person in that city, but it is sad to hear that his wife nor his daughters knew from the Lord. This morning I was having a conversation with my daughter, and she was telling me that the day before, her cousins were talking about a person who considers himself Christian. Well, this person stills attends church but drinks alcohol on special occasions, he has three boys who are already adults, but they want nothing to do with the Lord or the church. And this is the result of having a double life, we call ourselves Christians, but our lives don't reflect what comes out of our mouths.
Their requirement for freedom was not to look back as they were walking or running against Sodom, but their mother looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. When tragedy comes into our lives, let's not look back, God can always replace those beautiful items we have collected through the years. Please don't get confused; this was not tragedy coming into their lives but a new way of life for them. God moves us in different ways, but the primary purpose of every time He moves is for us to stay focused on Him and to be thankful for the family and the health He has provided.

But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Luke 17:32
Remember Lot's wife.
Lot dwelt in a cave with his two daughters; the older daughter thought the world was destroyed and that the three were the only humans on earth. She proposes to her sister to get the father drunk and lie with him to continue the father's lineage. The next day the youngest daughter repeated the same immoral act. These girls did not know how to kneel and ask the Lord for a miracle; they probably did not know the story of Adam and Eve. They did not know about the blessings of God or the miracles He had performed in the past; their lack of knowledge from the Lord made them commit such sins that did not let to shame or sorrow; this was their way of life. The two daughters conceived from having sex with their father, Moab, and Ammon, were born, and they both became two nations that later on became the enemies of God's people.
Genesis 19:30-38
And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
37 And the first born bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.
Conclusion: This story teaches us that we can't serve God and the world; we are either followers of Christ or not. Our children are watching our behaviors and are waiting to see if we do what we proclaim with our mouths.
